Learn To Run Clinic                                           8 week program

This program is designed to have you run for 30 minutes, and brings you to a 5 km distance gently and injury free.

Based on John Stanton’s running programs, it uses the 10 & 1 (stress & rest) program that is guaranteed to be successful for you. In this clinic you will learn about running in cold and warm weather, goal setting, pacing, how to avoid injury, proper nutrition and much more. This program will allow you to run comfortably without spending a great deal of time training. You will leave with a personal training program designed to keep you running.

This clinic ends with a 5 km FUN Run!

 

5 km Running Clinic                                     10 week program

Full fee              $80                                              $65 early bird price

This program is designed to prepare you for a 5 km running event. You can easily walk for 30 minutes, and have some basics of running, but you would like to achieve a specific distance goal. Then this program is for you

This clinic will consist of a 20 minutes workshop followed by a group run of varying lengths and speeds. You will build up your distance and speed slowly and safely. The program starts with John Stantons 10&1 (stress & rest) but you are able to run 5 km without stopping by the end.

You will learn about running in various temperatures, goal setting, pacing, how to avoid injuries, proper nutrition, shoe clinic and much more. Running with like-mined people will leave you motivated and inspired.

The program will end with an official timed 5km running event. You will leave with a personal training program designed to move you forward to your next running goals.

 

Half Marathon Clinic                                    12 week program

Full fee              $100                                              $85 early bird price

This program will progress you safely from 10km runs, and help you achieve running a full half marathon distance.

This clinic will consist of a 20 minutes workshop followed by a group run. With these workshops you will learn how to avoid injury, cross training, technique and conditioning, choosing the right shoe for you, nutrition for training and race day, proper biomechanics of running, and using a heart rate monitor. The group runs will challenge you with a variety of workouts including hills, fartlek, intervals, tempo runs, and speed workouts.

The running clinics will be held one evening a week. But there will also be the opportunity to join up with the clinic members for a long run every Saturday morning. Get motivated by running with other runners.

This program will prepare you for a fall half marathon. This run is specifically geared toward preparing you for the Blue Mountain Half Marathon on September 26th 2010.
